Because of globalism is broadly defined as the interconnecting and interdependency among peoples, countries, culture, particularly in markets and financial institutions, therefore, nations feel obliged to find ways in optimizing the profits of being interrelated with each other. The United Arab Emirates, which located almost at the geographical 'middle' of the Middle East, has grasped in all directions to nations and regions that it considers to be important in terms of trade, market/commerce and security. Even though its primary security guarantees lays in the form of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which deals primarily with regional threats, and various domestic agencies which focus on civil security, cyber security and policing, the UAE also devotes considerable attention and resources to monitoring wider threats. This thesis analyses the relationship of the UAE and the Horn of Africa in order to provide some observations and assessment of the importance of the latter on the former in the area of security, economic and humanitarian. Due to a rising security crisis on Gulf of Yemen, the UAE decided to expand its foreign policy in Horn of Africa and to act decisively on multiple fronts. This thesis tries to establish what is being done and how effective the efforts are proving.
