The Impact of Immigrant Laborers on the UAE's Security

Abstract

In 1971, the emirates of, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah were merged and united to form one country, the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In the Middle East, the UAE is one of the safest and secure countries with business stability and has been fortunate because it is not facing any serious impact due to political turmoil in the region. Since the formation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Immigrant labourers have impact on the environment of the UAE. There are dramatic security changes that have taken place. This thesis clearly outlines the specific security impacts and changes occurring in the community of the UAE. It will describe the issues of change and explain the process and impacts of these changes. The population of the UAE is increasing with increase in the number of immigrants. There is an imbalance among number of nationals and non-nationals. The research existing positive and negative impacts that are currently affecting the UAE security and the people due to increase in the number of immigrant workers from Asian and Arab countries.
