Climate change is a global problem, and greenhouse gas emissions playing a significant role in global warming. Therefore, the shift to cleaner energy alternatives is urgently needed. The oil industry, however, would be negatively affected by this shift, which could have an effect on employment and industry and others. The objective of the research is to investigate a cleaner energy alternative that can be produced by the oil industry, while enabling the sector to adjust and support sustainability objectives. This report evaluates the feasibility of synthetic fuel technology as an alternative source of energy. The study involves a technical evaluation as well as an economic and market analysis to determine its viability. The findings indicate that synthetic fuel production is a promising opportunity, but additional investment in research and pilot-scale development is required. This study highlights the significance of this technology and the necessity for ongoing research and policy support to ensure its practical application.
