Investigating the UAE Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for Increased Economic and Societal Impact

Abstract

The purpose of this study is understanding the UAE’s entrepreneurial ecosystem towards enhancing its societal and economic impact. Using the qualitative research approach in a case study research design, this study investigates the strengths and weaknesses of the entrepreneurial system in the UAE. The study begins with a thorough literature review, touching on key concepts in the field of entrepreneurship and taking the special context of the UAE into consideration. It also investigates the contribution of incubators and how policy can contribute to improving the ecosystem’s societal and economic impact. With a sample size of 12 interview participants selected purposively, individuals operating the UAE’s entrepreneurial ecosystem are interviewed to generate empirical insights.
