Abstract

The primary purpose of this research is to evaluate the Security Requirements Engineering Process (SREP) method using the evaluation method developed as part of this research. The evaluation method consists of a number of qualitative and security requirements engineering research criteria. The evaluation is performed after applying the SREP on SG wireless networks case study. The application of SREP on the SG wireless networks case study serves as the secondary purpose of this research and is used to elicit, specify, categorize and prioritize the SG wireless networks security requirements in order to mitigate the associated risks and vulnerabilities. The evaluation of SREP is used to analyze it thoroughly to identify its weaknesses and recommend improvements. The evaluation can be extended to other security requirements engineering methods as the evaluation method provides generic criteria for evaluation.
