Abstract

Currently, the global market is experiencing a rabidly shifting environment where technology and innovation are considered the focal of products development. Hence, the new product development (NPD) concept become a significant concern for companies regardless of industry. The continues change in customers' demand and requirements have formed a global alert for companies to quickly adapt those changes and acquire new NPD processes. with regards to this, the main purpose was to catalysts those processes and integrate innovation in order to survive the market and retain the competitive advantage. Beforehand, different NPD systematic approaches have been utilized successfully, however, the lack of innovation within those approaches hinder the opportunity to thrive in present circumstances. Therefore, this paper will contribute and propose an advanced methodology for developing new product by the incorporation of two methodologies; the current Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology with the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ) methodology. Accordingly, DFSS will provide the structure while TRIZ methodology will trigger creativity throughout the process. The application of the proposed model will be on the manufacturing processes of green tea to improve the quality of tea, the production lifecycle, and cost.
