Wind turbines capacity factor modeling - A novel approach

Abstract

This letter presents a new formulation for wind turbine capacity factor using wind speed characteristics at any site and the turbine power curve parameters. When compared to the previous model, the proposed formulation is simpler and more accurate and results in a better turbine design for optimum turbine-site matching.
