Abstract
The weakly nonlinear vertical dust grain oscillations in dusty plasma crystals in the presence of a magnetic field was discussed. This nonlinearity related to the electric and magnetic fields in the sheath region, affected the dynamics of transverse dust-lattice oscillations. The generation of phase harmonics and the potential instability of the carrier wave was due to self interaction. It was stated that the instability related to the self-modulation of the carrier wave was independent from values of the intrinsic parameters.
