Abstract
Engineers or scientists rely on mentors to help develop their professional skills and knowledge. At universities, students rely on their teachers to teach them the needed skills and knowledge. Expert critiquing systems simulate the role of human critics (mentors or teachers) in an automated environment. This paper introduces expert critiquing systems and their use in engineering education and training. Some existing systems are presented.
