Abstract

Ceramic matrix composite tubes made from continuous Almax fibers reinforced alumina matrix were tested under monotonic tension, and torsion; cyclic tension, and torsion; and multiaxial cyclic load (a combination of tension and torsion). Damage and failure processes of the composite tubes under these loading conditions are described.
