Abstract

A novel and cost-effective method for the preparation of mesoporous carbon is proposed. In this work, we present a simple one-pot route for the synthesis of mesoporous carbon with three-dimensional cubic symmetry (Ia3d) via organic-inorganic self-assembly of tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS), Pluronic P123, n-butanol and sucrose in the acidic conditions. The obtained CMK-8 material was characterized by SAXS, N2 sorption analysis, SEM and TEM techniques. This CMK-8 as a highly versatile material can offer great potentials for various applications of these mesoporous materials.
