Abstract

In this work, ZnO nanoparticles were synthesised via a simple sonochemical reaction by using a new ionic liquid as1,2-(propanediol)-3-methylimidazolium Chloride [DPOHMIM+] [Cl-]. The ZnO nanoparticles and ionic liquid mixtures have been used to prepare polymer-inorganic nanocomposites of (ZnO NPs + IL) /PEG at different weight concentrations. The XRD and FTIR spectra confirmed the successful formation of the polymer nanocomposites. To study the impact of (ZnO NPs +IL) on the dielectric properties in the nanocomposite, the impedance spectra have been measured in the frequency range from 10 Hz to 2MHz by employing a high precision LCR meter at ambient temperature. The variations with frequency of the samples' effective dielectric permittivity and electric conductivity are deduced.
