Abstract

On the basis of the previous research work, investigations have been made on the mechanical behavior of reformed bamboo/aluminum laminate composites manufactured in a relatively large size for the purpose of applications in industrial structures. Results from static tests in tension, compression and bending are presented. A comparison is also made of the mechanical properties between laminates of small and relatively large sizes. The effect of defects present in the large-size laminates on the mechanical properties and failure modes is demonstrated.
