Abstract

A TE-pass silicon photonics polarizer based on adiabatic waveguide bends is proposed, with 30-55dB extinction and 0.3dB insertion loss predicted over 100nm-bandwidth. The fabricated proof-of-concept polarizer shows 20dB extinction and 1-2dB insertion loss over 50nm.
