    Abstract

Due to diversified applications in the environment, the Metal nanoparticles (NPs) and Metal Oxide nanoparticles are of great interest of the multidisciplinary researchers. The biosynthetic method emerged as one of the most reliable, sustainable, low cost and ecological approaches for the preparation of metal NPs and metal oxide nanoparticles. This review is on the environmental applications of the biosynthesized viz. Silver, Gold, Copper along with its oxide and Zinc Oxide nanoparticles. The bio-method has a wide range of advantages over the routine methods, as it's a way towards 'Green' synthesis. Various environmental applications reported in the literature during last six years were systematically reviewed and explained in the current manuscript. The environmental applications were mainly waste water treatment, environmental sensing, and its uses as cost-effective energy sources etc. We strongly believe that current review will be useful to environmental researchers towards understanding various biosynthesis and nanoparticles-based solutions for the various environment issues.
