Abstract

An optimum algorithm for space vector modulation (SVM) matrix converter state commutation, that minimizes the number of switch commutations, is introduced. The algorithm selects the appropriate states to obtain a unity input power factor and utilizes the sequence that produces the minimum switching losses. The proposed algorithm is suitable for microcontroller implementation requiring very little computational effort.
