    Abstract

One out of eight people in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are estimated to have diabetes. Modeling the relationship between developing this health condition and complications is an important step towards understanding this disease. In this paper, we investigate a system of fractional differential equations to estimate the size of diabetic population with and without complication in the UAE. We provide the well-posedness analysis of the model in the sense of Hadamard. We also provide the numerical approximations of the solution as a means of prediction of the future size of UAE diabetic population and the economic burden of the country that may be used by the government to take necessary preventative measure.
