    Abstract

Conventional LC filter design only considers voltage and current ripples. Improved design considers other performance criterions: efficiency, cost, reliability, EMI influence, dynamic response, volume, cutoff frequency, etc. Optimizing any single aforementioned objective can improve the conventional design. However, optimizing one criterion always sacrifice the performance of other criterions. So, using the Pareto-frontier of multi-objective optimization will show different improving directions of conventional method, while reflecting the tradeoff relationships of different criterions.
