MoS2 Nano Particles for UV Absorption in Solar Cells

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

MoS2 is a promising 2D material for solar energy harvesting applications due to its size-dependent tunable bandgap and attractive magnetic, optical, and electrical properties. This study shows an easy way to deposit a 2D layer of MoS2 nanoparticles on top of AZO/Quartz, AZO/Si, and bare Si. We investigate their UV-Vis spectral responses and potential for application in optoelectronic systems. Furthermore, compare the IV characteristic effect of MoS2 2D nanoparticles. Initial results indicate modification of the absorption spectrum over the UV-Vis range with an evident increase in the higher visible and lower UV range.
