Abstract

As technology continues to evolve rapidly and e-commerce expands following the pandemic, delivery services have become a cornerstone of modern life. These services now go beyond just delivering packages, they also include on-site specialized service delivery. This shift has created a pressing need for a model that captures the complexity and constraints of on-site specialized service delivery, which this paper addresses through the development of a generalized mathematical model for the Mobile Service Delivery Center Location Routing Problem (MSDCLRP). The model is designed to streamline on-site service delivery by lowering operational costs and increasing customer satisfaction, thereby improving overall service efficiency. It gives customers the flexibility to choose their preferred locations and times for the service delivery and the model chooses the optimal option that reduces operational costs. The results indicate that offering more options per customer can lead to lower operational costs compared to fewer options; however, this also increases model complexity requiring the use of advanced optimization algorithms.
