Abstract

The impact of Coulomb and bandstructure effects on the interband transitions of quantum well structures was investigated. The electron-electron, hole-hole, electronic hole transitions and scattering mechanisms were systematically included in Greens functions formalism that includes the nonparabolic electron and hole dispersions. The phenomenological dephasing constants in the optical response functions were eleminated, while claculating scattering and correlation effects. The interplay between nonparabolicity and Copulomb effects would be discussed for different designs and operating temperature and excitation conditions.
