    Abstract

A new synthetic approach has been used to develop glycidyl functionalized mesoporous silica (GSBA-15) reinforced cyanate ester nanocomposites. SBA-15 was functionalized using 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS). Varying weight percentages of GSBA-15 were used to reinforce the cyanate ester to develop nanocomposites. The formation of nanocomposites was confirmed using the FT-IR. Cyanate ester nanocomposites having higher weight percentage of GSBA-15 showed a lower dielectric (k = 2.11) constant and higher thermal properties than those of neat cyanate ester.
