Abstract

Agent paradigm is being more and more widely used to address distributed decision problems and meeting scheduling is one of them. Meeting scheduling requires multiple individuals to interact and agree upon a common time. In the real world individuals usually have conflicting preferences thus making the process of scheduling a meeting complex, as it attempts to satisfy the preferences of all participants. This work models the problem in a distributed manner, utilizing the agent approach. It presents two multiagent decision-making procedures for selecting the optimal meeting time. Agent based simulations are run using the proposed decision mechanisms, and the results are presented.
