    Abstract

Three rectangular fin arrays are experimentally investigated. A Rayleigh - Nusselt number correlation is presented based upon a novel measurement of the adiabatic wall temperature and a modified Rayleigh number. The velocity and temperature over the inlet and outlet area of a passage is presented. The flow is shown to be very unlike parallel plate flow on which much previous fin array work has been based.
