Abstract

The interfacial fracture properties of a carbon fiber reinforced PEEK/titanium fiber metal laminate were studied. Room temperature single cantilever beam tests at quasi-static rates of loading yielded interfacial fracture energy in excess of 2500 J/m2. Interfacial fracture toughness of the system remained well above 2000 J/m2 at 120°C.
