Abstract

Although uterine leiomyomata rarely result in reproductive dysfunction, surgical intervention for this problem can result in significant sequelae that can engender infertility. The prudent gynecologist must therefore carefully evaluate the affected patient and subsequently weigh the risks and benefits of intervention in individuals desirous of preserving reproductive potential.
