Abstract
This study investigates the effect of future solar power projects on the locational marginal prices (LMP) in the main interconnected system of Oman. The study includes modeling the existing transmission network and simulating system performance during peak period. Two investment scenarios were investigated: large localized solar project and small geographically dispersed projects. In addition, the effect of both scenarios on transmission system losses is simulated.
