Abstract

In this paper, we investigate the impact of imperfect channel estimation on the performance of an inter-vehicular communication scheme with amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying. In particular, we derive a semi-analytical bit error rate (BER) expression for the inter-vehicular scheme under consideration in the presence of channel estimation errors. We consider BPSK modulation and model all transmission links in the the cooperative system as cascaded Rayleigh fading. We express the derived expression in terms of the correlation coefficients between the channel coefficients and their estimates. Simulation results are presented to validate our analytical results.
