Abstract

For practical applications, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have to be assembled into macroscopic architectures, and CNT fiber presents itself as a promising candidate. However, CNTs inside a CNT fiber slide considerably during static and cyclic tensile tests, which is unfavorable for long-term performances. In this study, a second phase has been introduced into CNT fiber in order to enhance its reliability.
