Abstract

This letter investigates the error rate performance of relay-assisted non-orthogonal multiple access networks with simultaneous wireless information and power transfer. In particular, we derive a novel closed-form expression for the pairwise error probability (PEP) of all users, which is then used to derive a union bound on the error rate performance. Additionally, we derive an asymptotic closed-form expression of the PEP in the high signal-to-noise ratio regime and demonstrate that the maximum achievable diversity order for the underlying scenario is equal to one. Numerical and simulation results are presented to corroborate the analysis and to investigate the error rate performance of all users under different energy harvesting scenarios.
