Abstract

In this paper, the combined influence of Coulomb and bandstructure effects are analysed in the intersubband optical absorption of semiconductor quantum wells. Conduction band nonparabolicity is partially taken into account through effective masses adjusted to the nonparabolic electron subbands obtained from the solutions of an 8×8 K·P Hamiltonian. Numerical solutions of the Keldysh Green's Functions equations yield absorption spectra for III-V quantum wells at room temperature.
