Abstract
CO2-EOR gained the attention of industry as one of the most practical choices of oil recovery approaches. In addition to the oil production boost, enhanced oil recovery by means of CO2 offers a channel to store the enormous volumes of CO2 permanently under the subsurface in depleted crude oil reservoirs. Here we discussed the potential and operational mechanisms of CO2-EOR applications for trapped oil recovery as well as CO2 sequestration.
