Abstract

This chapter summarizes the synthesis of carbon nanotubes with an emphasis on controllable synthesis. Two major types of nanotube products, horizontally aligned single-walled nanotubes and vertically aligned nanotube arrays, are discussed in terms of their controllable synthesis over diameter, chirality, wall number, length, location, and orientation/alignment, targeting various but specified requirements from industrial applications.
