title = "Comprehensive Evaluation of Phase Current Reconstruction Strategies for Four-Phase Switched Reluctance Motor Drives",
abstract = "Acquisition of the phase current is imperative to protect and control the switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive systems. Typically, one current sensor is equipped in series with each phase winding of SRM to observe the phase current. However, it increases cost and degrades the running reliability of SRM drive systems. Therefore, it is imperative to develop an accurate, convenient and flexible phase current reconstruction scheme with minimal current sensors. This paper presents an overview and classification of phase current sensing methods for the four-phase SRM drive. Furthermore, some of the popular methods are extensively discussed, and the performance comparison of these methods is highlighted through case studies. Simulation studies on a four-phase SRM drive are conducted under hysteresis current control and single-pulse control methods in MATLAB/SIMULINK platform over a wide speed range.",
