Abstract

Continuous video-EEG telemetry is a frequently used method for the diagnosis of clinical paroxysmal motor events. It consists of videotaping of the patient, and simultaneously recording EEG, EKG, chin and limb EMG, ocular movements and respiratory efforts. The analysis of the clinical and electrophysiologic data collected by this method in conjunction with the neurological evaluation allows the classification of most neonatal paroxysmal motor events.
