Abstract

A new method for confidence interval estimation of mass transfer coefficients suitable for dissolving dense nonaqueous phase liquid pools in homogeneous, water-saturated porous media is developed. The method is based on the bootstrap resampling technique in conjunction with a least squares regression procedure. The method is successfully applied to experimental data collected from bench scale trichloroethylene pool dissolution experiments.
