Abstract
Acid fracturing is one of the commonly used well stimulation treatment in tight carbonate reservoirs. Carbonates are generally low permeable but with high storability and are good candidate for acid fracturing. The success of acid fracture depends on the penetration of live acid and fracture conductivity. This article presents a program integrating fracture geometry, acid flow, fracture surface characterization, and fracture closure. Sensitivity analysis shows that the conductivity correlates with the fracture width. The conductivity increases linearly with the initial roughness of fracture face. The conductivity decreases with the closure stress. This work would predict conductivity and productivity at different conditions and help adjust the treatment parameters to give optimal productivity.
