Abstract

Asynchronous multiuser communication for the shallow-water acoustic channel is considered by means of direct-sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA). Computer simulations are carried out to study the advantages and disadvantages resulting in employing DS/CDMA in combination with well-established communication techniques, such as adaptive spatial signal processing and time filtering.
