Abstract

The monolithic nature of traditional raster images makes controlled dissemination of their internal features a difficult task. Recently, however, XML-based graphics formats such as the Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) standard are becoming increasingly popular due to their recognized advantages in terms of application interoperability. In this paper we exploit the XML-based data model of SVG to present a model and a syntax aimed at selectively controlling access to graphic infonnation on the Internet.
