Abstract

The range of stable operation in gas-solid multistage fluidised beds (a) with no downcomers, and (b) with downcomers to the horizontal perforated plates has been studied at different experimental conditions. Equations to predict the stable range of operations are proposed based on the experimental data. Solids pressure drop in the two modes of multistage fluidisation was measured and correlations for its prediction have been proposed.
