Abstract

Six Sigma, a measurement-based strategy, is presented as the methodology to make processes profitable by reducing variability. Six sigmas focuses on improving profitability, to drive out waste, to reduce quality cost and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of processes through the application of statistical methods. The successful application of Six Sigma requires statistical skills, engineering skills, planning skills, communication and teamwork skills.
