Abstract
A new modulation scheme is proposed to reduce the multiple access interference inherent to frequency hopping networks. The new scheme namely MAFSK is a hybrid of the conventional noncoherent M-ary Frequency Shift Keying and M-ary Amplitude Shift Keying. The hybrid modulation scheme provides significant flexibility to optimize the system BER performance for different operating conditions.
