Abstract

This paper introduces a frequency-domain interpolator by implementing a radix-8 512-point IFFT architecture for application on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) Wireless LAN transmitters. For the specific application where the interpolation factor is eight, the frequency-domain interpolator outperforms the time-domain interpolator implemented with digital low-pass FIR filters in terms of computational complexity. It is shown that the proposed implementation is more efficient regarding processing time when compared to previously reported implementations which utilize a smaller oversampling factor.
