A Comparative Study of Solid-State Pulse-Power Generators for High-Voltage Nanosecond Applications

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

Pulse power generators are used in a variety of applications ranging from food and water treatment to medical applications. Different circuit topologies and architectures have been proposed to generate short transient pulses. This work compares the performance of four common topologies under similar specifications. In particular, solid-state-based Marx circuit, forward converter-based pulse transformer circuit, the pulse forming network and the capacitor diode voltage multiplier circuit are compared and discussed.
