Organic Chemistry II

Course

Description

This course introduces the structure, conformation, stereochemistry, physical properties, spectroscopy and reactions of organic compounds, such as aromatics, alcohols, ethers, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids and derivatives, and radicals. Reaction mechanisms including multi-step organic syntheses involving these compounds are discussed. Characterization techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier-Transform infrared (IR), and mass spectrometry (MS) are covered.
