The scientific and engineering principles of microwave radar remote sensing are covered in this course. Fundamental concepts and problems related to radar measurements are presented. The basic physics of electromagnetic wave scattering from particles, surfaces and volumes are illustrated. Applications involving various frequency and polarization diversity techniques used in the radar remote sensing of land, sea and the atmosphere are discussed.
