Description
This course focuses on the study of the electrical, optical, opto-electronic, and magnetic properties of materials, both mono and poly-crystalline, including metals and semiconductors. The course delves into the roles of bonding, structure, and composition in influencing and controlling these physical properties. This course also discusses how energy bands affect a material's electrical and optical properties. This includes investigating how electrons behave within materials, particularly how they migrate and interact with light. The impact of grain boundaries, flaws, and other features on microstructure on material physical properties is also covered in the course. Understanding the connections between material composition and physical qualities is a major focus of the entire course.
